TIPA 28th August 2006: For the members of the community, the passing week turns out be a heartbreaking week with the loss of our dear Secretary late Mr. Gonpo Tashi. After relieving his responsibility as an accountant of Save the Children Fund in the Phuntsokling, Orrisa, he joined TIPA in March 1993 as an assistant accountant. Over the years, through sheer hard works and meticulous execution of his duty, he was promoted to the rank of an Accountant.

In September 2002, the TIPA members complemented his contribution and efforts in growth of TIPA as a community by voting unanimously in his favor for the post of Secretary. The gentleman will be remembered for his humble personality, management expertise, generous guidance and his dedication towards the Institution. Despite his faltering health on the eve of his life, Gompo la turned up for work and was resolute in discharging his duty.

After a year of prolonged illness, Mr. Gonpo la finally passed away on 28th of August 2006 at 8.20 a.m. at Delek Hospital. As a mark of respect, all the sections of TIPA remained closed and members organized prayer sessions. His body was subsequently cremated on 30th August 2006 in the presence of all members, grieved by the tragic loss. Secretary Gonpo la is survived by his wife Mrs. Dechen Dolma, his daughter Tenzin Dechen and his son Tenzin Thupten.
