The Deputy Commissioner of Shimla asked TIPA to participate in the Himachal Day celebration in Simla on Aprl 15. The Director and 43 members of TIPA travelled to Simla. They performed two items at Himachal Day, Ralpa and Draynen Shadro. His Excellency Mr. VB Kokje, Governor of Himachal Pradesh, and Madam Kokje were chief guests. They inaugurated the Opera on April 17 by lighting lamps and offering a scarf to the statue of Thangtong Gyalpo. The opera performed was Sugkyi Nyima. On April 18 these artistes also performed Dances from the Roof of the World both for school children and local Tibetans.
